        What is microneedling?

        What is PRP?

Your blood sample is then spun in our centrifuge and plasma is extracted from the sample. The plasma that is extracted is called PRP and it is packed with cytokines and proteins that stimulate new tissue growth, and support tissue healing.

No matter how diligent you are about coming to see us, if you are using the wrong products at home, you may never get the full results you want. Many products found in big box stores contain harsh ingredients that can irritate and worsen skin conditions. Unless you educate yourself on the ingredients you need to treat your skin concerns and which to avoid, it’s best to consult with a professional on which products you should be using. With every service we provide, we will recommend products for at-home use. All of the products we recommend are medical grade and available in the spa and some can be ordered online with direct shipping right to your door!

          Skin Care FAQs

          I have acne. Many of your services list acne as a condition that can be treated. Which should I book?

          This is a great question and one you don’t have to answer.  Our goal is to take the guesswork out of treating acne for you.  We don’t want you to have to keep “trying things” to see if they will work.  Instead, we want to guide you, so if you’re struggling with acne, the best thing to do is schedule a consultation with us.  During that consult, we’ll discuss what’s going on, examine your skin and develop a treatment plan for you.   

          I have multiple skin concerns. How do I decide which one to treat first?

          Many clients come to us suffering from multiple skin issues. We have a number of tools that can treat multiple conditions at once, like the Aerolase [link to laser page]. Additionally, some of our skin care services can be tailored to target multiple issues at once. Depending on the severity of your issues, we can also use multiple modalities to treat you. So, if you have multiple concerns, schedule a consultation with us and we develop a treatment plan that reaches your goals.

          HydraFacial® FAQs

          What makes HydraFacial® better than a traditional facial?

          Technology.  There will always be a need for traditional facials.  When the right products are used, they can be very effective over time. That said, if you really have some serious skin goals, using HydraFacial®’s patented technology will extract impurities and deliver ingredients to your skin in a way traditional facials cannot.  

          Do I need to plan for downtime after a HydraFacial®?

          No, there is no downtime needed after a HydraFacial®.  Some skin types may experience mild redness from the exfoliation process, but most clients are fine.  

          Does it hurt?

          No, HydraFacial® is painless.  

          VI Peel FAQs

          Are chemical peels done as a standalone service, or alongside a facial?

          Chemical peels can be performed as a standalone service, but are significantly enhanced in combination with microneedling and laser facials. 

          I always thought people with dark skin had to be careful when getting a chemical peel. Why are VI peels safe?

          VI Peel has a variety of formulas and some are made with a special concentration of acids that are self-neutralizing making them safe for all skin colors.

          Is there downtime?

          There is minimal downtime with this treatment. Most guests are back to business as usual within 24 hours.  

          Is it safe for all skin types?

          Yes, SkinPen®, or SkinPen + PRP treatments are safe and effective for both men and women with all skin colors.   

          Is there anyone that is not a good candidate for this service?

          SkinPen is contraindicated for clients that have active skin cancer in the treatment area, open wounds or sores, have hemorrhagic bleeding disorder, pregnant or nursing, or currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin. 

          What qualifications do you need to perform PRP treatments?

          At Fitzy Shades our microneedling treatments are performed by licensed aestheticians and nurses. 

          Since PRP involves drawing blood, what protocols are in place to ensure guest safety?
